4 Judging & Prizes
4.1 Once the Competition closes, all images will be judged by a professional external judge.  All entries to the Competition will also be considered for The Richard Pearse Memorial Prize and will be judged separately by the Pearse family. In all cases, the original images will be presented to the judges anonymously, identified only by a unique number.
4.2 Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each age group. The winners will not be notified until the prize-giving event. Details of the prizes can be found on the SCC website.
4.3 The Richard Pearse Memorial Prize is an additional special award to the entrant submitting the photograph which, in the opinion of the judging panel, would most have been enjoyed by the founder of the competition.
4.4 With the exception of the Richard Pearse Memorial Prize no entrant may win more than one prize. If more than one image is judged to be in a prize winning position then only the highest ranking image will be accepted.
4.5 Prizes cannot be exchanged or transferred and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other prize.
4.6 The judges’ decision is final.

5 Publicity

It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that each image they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright to it.
6.2 Copyright for any entered image will remain with the copyright holder. However in consideration of them entering The Competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to SCC to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of their publications, their website and / or in any promotional material connected with this or any future such competitions.
6.3 Each entrant (and their parent or guardian where appropriate) acknowledges that entry into The Competition does not grant any rights in any intellectual property rights of The Competition and / or SCC and agrees not to use any names or logos or other intellectual property rights belonging to the owner or sponsors of the competition.

7 Liability
7.1 Proof of electronic submission is not proof of receipt by SCC. Refer to item 2.7.
7.2 SCC accepts no responsibility for images which have not been received due to any technical or other reason.
7.3 SCC regrets that they cannot accept liability for the misuse of images and / or failure of any third party to comply with the competition’s guidelines.
